THE $MARS PROJECT
$MARS is the first American-born pygmy hippo ever named by the crypto community, launched to celebrate his birth at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in June 2025. What began as a memecoin has grown into a mission-driven project uniting crypto and wildlife conservation.

The Mission:
Crypto x Conservation
To unite crypto culture and real-world conservation by using the power of community-driven crypto to support endangered species - starting with Mars, the first American-born pygmy hippo named by the blockchain.

The Story
Pygmy hippos are one of the rarest mammals on Earth, with fewer than 2,500 left in the wild- and almost never born in the U.S. That changed in June 2025, when Tanganyika Wildlife Park welcomed a baby pygmy hippo.
Around the same time, a memecoin called $MARS launched for fun - but quickly found purpose. The community donated Pump.fun creator fees to the park and earned the right to vote on the hippo’s name. The choice was clear: Mars.
After the original dev walked away, the project didn’t die - it evolved. A Community Takeover (CTO) stepped in, and what started as a meme became a mission. Today, $MARS continues to grow - supporting conservation, organizing our community, and carrying the legacy of the real Mars.

Tanganyika Wildlife Park
Tanganyika Wildlife Park is a family-owned, AZA-accredited zoo located in Goddard, Kansas, dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered species through immersive education, hands-on experiences, and responsible breeding programs.
Home to over 500 animals representing 150 species, Tanganyika offers one of the most interactive wildlife experiences in the country. Guests can feed lemurs, giraffes, and even swim with penguins - all while supporting critical conservation efforts around the world.
In June 2025, Tanganyika welcomed the birth of a baby pygmy hippopotamus - a species with fewer than 2,500 left in the wild. That baby became Mars, named by the $MARS community through a donation-funded naming vote.
We are proud to continue supporting Tanganyika’s mission to inspire future generations to care for and protect wildlife.

How $MARS Generates Donations
Every trade in $MARS generates creator rewards - we receive 0.0005 of every $1 in trading volume.
These rewards automatically collect in our donation wallet.
Once a week, every Monday, we send the accumulated funds directly to Tanganyika Wildlife Park and post proof of donation publicly.
Why Weekly Donations
Keeps momentum and community engagement high.
Ensures a steady stream of funding for the park instead of waiting for large lump sums.
Builds a transparent track record of real-world impact as we grow.
Projected Weekly Donations at Early Market Caps
$1M MC → ~$1,000/week
$2M MC → ~$2,000/week
$3M MC → ~$3,000/week
$5M MC → ~$5,000/week
Future Projections
As we grow, we’ll track real trading data over the course of the project to provide more accurate projections for higher tiers:
$15M MC
$20M MC
$50M MC
$100M+ MC
These will be updated publicly so the community can clearly see the correlation between growth and real-world donations.
Note: Donation amounts are subject to change based on Pump.fun policy and community voting.
